Responsibilities

• Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Conduct detailed account reconciliations, including bank reconciliations, general ledger reconciliation, and account analysis to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Contribute to audit preparations by providing documentation, supporting schedules, and explanations for auditors’ inquiries.
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely payments and collections while maintaining compliance with company policies.
• Utilize accounting software to record transactions accurately and efficiently.

Skills

• Proficiency with accounting software.
• Solid understanding of financial concepts such as debits & credits, balance sheet reconciliation, cash flow analysis, and journal entries.
• Ability to perform detailed account reconciliation and account analysis efficiently.
• Excellent analytical skills combined with strong attention to detail; capable of identifying discrepancies quickly.
• Effective communication skills.

Overview

We are seeking a Tax Manager to oversee tax compliance and planning in a family office environment. This role will manage tax staff, review complex filings, and work closely with shareholders and leadership on tax matters while maintaining strict confidentiality.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and review work of tax staff
• Review federal and multi-state tax returns for individuals, partnerships, corporations, trusts, and related entities
• Manage tax planning, compliance timelines, and quarterly estimates
• Prepare and review tax workpapers and projections
• Coordinate with external tax advisors and respond to tax notices
• Support estate planning and special projects as needed

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required; CPA or MS in Tax preferred
• 7+ years of tax experience, ideally in a family office or similar environment
• Strong technical knowledge of partnership, individual, and trust taxation
• Experience with quarterly/annual projections, payroll tax, W-2 and 1099 filings
